CARE, CONNECTION & ACCESS
Accessibility at
More Than Therapy.
We want more people to be able to use our website, find support, and take part in learning and activities.
Accessibility improvements are in progress. This website has not completed a comprehensive accessibility audit or been certified as conformant. We do not currently claim full WCAG conformance or verified ADA or EAA legal compliance.
Reading and display options
Use the Accessibility button on any page to turn on larger body text, additional text spacing, underlined links, a simple typeface, high contrast, or reduced CSS motion. Reset preferences returns these options to their defaults. Your device’s reduced-motion preference is also respected.
Preferences are stored only in your current browser, when browser storage is available. They are optional and do not replace your browser’s zoom, screen reader, keyboard controls, or other assistive technology.
Read aloud
Open Accessibility options and choose Read page to hear the main page text. Inside an activity, choose Read introduction aloud to hear its introduction and fictional scenario. Typed answers and generated reflections are skipped. Pause, Resume, Stop, speed, and voice controls are available in the panel. Closing the panel or leaving the page stops speech.
Speech starts only after you choose Read. Voices and audio availability depend on your browser and device. Some voices use an online speech provider. This reading aid does not replace a screen reader for full page navigation.
Using a keyboard
Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move through links and controls, Enter or Space to activate buttons, and Escape to close dialogs. Use the skip link at the beginning of each page to reach its main content. Activity participation and sharing are optional.
WCAG-based remediation
Our technical target is the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at Level AA. Shared improvements include visible keyboard focus, baseline control target sizes, reduced-motion styles, reading preferences, and consistently available accessibility help. These improvements are a starting point, not a completed audit of every success criterion.
ADA & EAA compliance
We use WCAG 2.2 AA to guide accessibility remediation. A preference widget does not establish legal compliance. Applicable obligations and any formal compliance claim require assessment of the actual service, content, jurisdiction, and relevant legal requirements.
Current limitations
- The full activity library still needs comprehensive testing with screen readers, keyboard-only use, zoom and reflow, and users with disabilities. Some game formats may require alternative instructions or facilitation.
- Book cover images contain text. Book titles and descriptions are also provided as webpage text; cover artwork itself is not a complete accessible edition of a book.
- Scheduling, training, Eventbrite, Amazon, and other external services have their own interfaces and accessibility practices. This widget does not modify those services.
- No tool alone establishes accessibility conformance. We have not yet completed independent assistive-technology and user testing across every page and activity.
